Jodi Parry Belknap owns Belknap Publishing and Design, a company she founded in 1987. A graduate of Barnard College with an A.B. in English and Writing, she is a former teacher and also holds an M.A. in Youth Theatre from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. Earlier in her career Ms. Belknap traveled throughout the Pacific and Far East on assignment for a major New York travel trade publisher and became a prolific author of books and articles on culture, art and travel.
Buzz Belknap, who frequently directs book projects at Belknap Publishing & Design, is the former owner of the first digital pre-press house in Hawaii. With his father, National Geographic photographer Bill Belknap, he co-founded Westwater Books, publishers of whitewater River Guides to the Grand Canyon and other areas. Today, Buzz and his sister Loie Evans (now the publisher), annually update the River Guides with innovative ideas, text, photos and maps. A master cartographer, Buzz also designs maps for many other clients. His considerable skill in photographic reproduction and color composition as well as unsurpassed expertise in the computer programs that enable quality book publication provide essential underpinning to Belknap Publishing & Design.
